In a nutshell, a mashup contest is a competition consisting of problem-solving questions from previous Codeforces Divs. Its main purpose is to prepare participants for upcoming, more challenging contests, which was precisely the aim of the held contest, and to also get participants used to teamwork in coding competitions.
This event is the kickstarter for a series of similar contests unfolding throughout the semester, designed to prepare students for the Jordanian Collegiate Programming Contest (JCPC) happening later in October. Additionally, this contest held significant importance for the JUST ACM student chapter as it marked its first independently organized on-site event, showcasing its growth.
On the vibrant Ramadani morning of March 20, 2024, an on-site Mashup contest was organized by the talented JUST ACM student chapter. A surprising number of more than 55 students, distributed among 19 teams, gathered from 10:30 until 1:30 to participate in the contest. However, the intensity of the contest lingered beyond the scheduled time, with the last 30 minutes serving as the nerve-wracking freeze time, amplifying the thrill of competition.
Despite the nerve-wracking nature of the contest, enthusiasm and teamwork pulsed through the atmosphere, capturing what JUST ACM student chapter is aiming to be; the place where problem-solving and honing of skills harmoniously intertwine and made enjoyable. As the event ended, it left everyone feeling excited, hinting at the bright future ahead of the chapter, its dedicated members, and interested students.
Our contests warmly embrace any student with a passion for learning. Whether you’re a curious beginner or a code master, our doors are wide open for you.
