On January 10th, 2024, the JUST ACM Student chapter successfully organized its first on-site problem-solving contest in collaboration with the Computing Technology Club (CTC) at Jordan University of Science and Technology. The event drew the active participation of over 120 first-year students eager to showcase their problem-solving skills.
Unfolding over an engaging 2 hours and 30 minutes, the contest featured eight thoughtfully crafted problems tailored to align with the programming proficiency of beginners. These problems were designed to provide a stimulating and enjoyable experience for all participants, with a special mention of the Makmoora problem, marking a significant milestone as their inaugural on-site contest. Notably, this contest marked the conclusion of a series of eight weekly contests conducted throughout the entire semester, starting from the very first week.
The JUST ACM student chapter’s team took on the responsibility of organizing these contests comprehensively, ensuring the progressive development of participants’ coding skills. This commitment underscores the dedication of the JUST ACM student chapter to enabling a conducive environment for learning and growth and fostering the talents of aspiring programmers.
The event concluded with an honoring ceremony led by Dr. Malak Abdullah, the supervisor of the JUST ACM student chapter, and the members of the JUST ACM student chapter team. Certificates were awarded to the top 20 students in the contest, recognizing their outstanding achievements. Additionally, certificates of participation were presented to all other contestants, acknowledging their valuable contribution and effort in the competition. Moreover, these certificates not only symbolize accomplishments but also act as a source of encouragement, inspiring all participants to persist on this path.
This contest also marks the beginning of an exhilarating journey into an upcoming training program throughout the second semester! It’s a fantastic opportunity for all students eager to elevate their coding skills, promising valuable experiences and exciting learning adventures. Get ready for a semester filled with growth, exploration, and coding excellence!
